Women need testosterone

Testosterone matters for women, too. It impacts energy, muscle mass, and even libido.

Most people think of testosterone as a “male hormone,” but women’s bodies naturally produce it, just in smaller amounts.

Testosterone plays a crucial role in muscle strength, bone density, brain function, and even mood. But as we enter perimenopause and menopause, our ovaries stop making it, and adrenal production isn’t enough to keep us thriving.

When testosterone declines, so does energy, motivation, muscle tone, and even confidence.

Many women also experience brain fog, joint pain, and a frustrating loss of libido. These symptoms are often brushed off as “just aging.” But here’s the thing: we don’t have to accept it as inevitable.

Replacing testosterone (when it’s low) will help restore strength, mental clarity, and even the spark that many women feel they’ve lost. It was life changing when I included it in my HRT! My husband asks me on the daily, “did you put your testosterone today?”, lol!

If something feels off, checking your levels and exploring your options, including hormone therapy—could be the game-changer you didn’t know you needed.

Have you ever had your testosterone tested? If so, did you notice a difference when you addressed it?
