—learning to reset is essential.
For women in mid-life, your body may experience anxiety or stress differently now that your hormones have changed.
Think about it…our ancestors faced short bursts of stress (like outrunning a predator), then their bodies returned to a calm state. But modern life? It’s nonstop. Work deadlines, family responsibilities, the mental load of remembering everything. Your body isn’t built for this kind of chronic stress, and over time, it takes a toll.
The good news? You can train your nervous system to reset. Small things like deep breathing, mindful movement, and even just stepping outside for fresh air signal your body that it’s safe to relax.
Personally, I choose box breathing since I’m able to use the technique anywhere and anytime. Taking a few minutes to focus on your breathing brings calm and clarity to the situation.
